Why S&P 500?
  1. U.S. finance industry is the largest as Aug 1st, 2015 and more mature and stable than others. 
  2. S&P 500 represents about 75% of U.S. stock market value and the typical bench mark.  When SP500 moves, most stocks moves in the same direction. NASDAQ (ETF QQQ) and Dow Jones (ETF DIA)  often correlate with the movement of S&P 500 (ETF SPY).
What does this service provide?

The service provides you time sensitive indicator and to be used as a part of your due diligence process to manage your portfolio better.

Clients need to login to the website to view latest communication including on the release of an indicator.  Any new communication in will be notified via E-mail.  

The service is a great help to 401K plan, 529, and other investment vehicles.

How often does S&P 500 CAP happen?

There is 10% chance in any given year that S&P 500 CAP won't happen. 

In the last 20 years from 1993 to 2014, there were only 2 years that S&P 500  CAP did not occur. 

How much time would take to turn the Traffic Light to red from green?

From the event in 2000 and in 2008, the time was about 1 year or less. 

Past results do not guarantee future events will unfold the same way. Frequent review of Traffic Light is recommended.    

Does Traffic Light provide signal to exit at the top?

Traffic Light identifies long-term bearish signs.  

In 2008 event, Traffic Light issued the red signal when S&P 500 is 15% away from the top, and avoided the nearly 50% correction from the top.  

In 2000 event, Traffic Light issued the red signal when S&P 500 is 12% away from the top and avoided the nearly 50% correction from the top.

Past results do not guarantee future events will unfold the same way.

How do I use Crystal Clear Indicator on my existing portfolio?

Plan the amount (%) of your total portfolio that you are comfortable to re-balance. 

Consider use intermediate signal as the time to execute your plan.

Consider use CAP signal to re-enter or your preferred signals.  CAP is an uncertainty and can not be predicted.  From the historical records, from 1993 to 2014, there were only 2 years that CAP on S&P 500 did not occur. 

Can I invest in ETF in my 401k account?

Some providers like Vanguard allow their clients to exchange up to 50% of portfolio values for ETFs purpose.  Check with your provider.

What is the advantage of ETF over mutual fund?

In 401K, usually you cannot make additional purchase on the fund you just sold.  There is a restriction period like 60 days.  ETF does not have the same restriction! 

What is 529?

It is a college tuition saving plan with no capital gain tax for family members.  Your earning are tax free as long as the proceed is used on college tuition recognized by FAFSA. 

You can start a 529 even before kids are born. 

Balance of your 529 is only allowed once per year in Vanguard plan.  This is where Traffic Light from Crystal Clear can help.  Normally, you don't need to adjust a portfolio with 100% in SP500 except for events like 2000 and 2008.

The timing of placing additional capital in the plan is also important to maximize the value of 529.  CAP from Crystal Clear can help.  CAP stands for capital appreciate point.  With CAP the ROE can be 50% more than biweekly investing method from 2009 to 2014.

Can my money be refunded?

No.  You do get 3 free indicators - CAP- on SP500 in Starter A package prior to make a commitment.  

How long does a subscription last?

One year. 

The subscription is paid at yearly level and renewal every year.  

Do I have to renew each year?

Yes.  Although we don’t think you’ll ever want a refund, we do offer refunds on a case-by-case basis if it’s requested within 30 days of renewal.
